In celebration of Women’s month, MANCOSA’s Centre for Women in Leadership will host a “Leading with Emotional intelligence” masterclass – an invigorating discussion on being brave and owning your narrative on Saturday, 13 August 2022 at 10am at the MANCOSA Cape Town campus.
Gone are the days where leadership meant being robotic, cold and distant. The landscape is drastically changing, for the better. Emotional Intelligence (EQ) is more than just managing emotions, it’s encompassing social skills and self-awareness, both tools that are highly lacking but needed to lead, manage conflict and nurture talent.
MANCOSA will showcase insights from high-profile women on their journey to success and how they have learnt to approach their careers, education and businesses by leveraging their inherent EQ.
Special guest speakers include Verusha Maharaj, Leila Bardien, Cindy Oyugi and Gabriella Oliver.
Maharaj has over 14 years of experience in the marketing and advertising industry. She will discuss her journey into leadership and touch on leading with EQ.
Bardien is an experienced manager with a demonstrated history of working in the staffing and recruiting industry. She will discuss building effective teams including building trust, respect, communication and motivation.
Oyugi is a motivational speaker from Cape Town. She is an unapologetic believer in women empowerment and is passionate about people’s development. She will discuss how to break the barrier as a woman in leadership.
Oliver is a Master’s student in Development Studies. She will discuss optimizing the leaders’ natural strengths.
Nuhraan Sambo, Director at MANCOSA said, “We do not have to wait until August to celebrate the phenomenal women in our space, as women are achieving great things all the time but what is important is to continue providing platforms such as the Centre for Women in Leadership to encourage collaboration, motivate and inspire woman to understand the significant and dynamic role they play in life and the community.
“Research has indicated that women make profound leaders in that they hold key social skills to know how to motivate the workforce. Leading with EQ is not for the faint hearted in that it takes ongoing effort and determination to understand your role as a leader as well as the teams role.”
Sambo added that she is excited that MANCOSA has an opportunity to celebrate success stories at the upcoming masterclass and is looking forward to engaging with all the attendees.
Members of the media are invited to learn to harness the power of establishing a solid EQ and thrive in your journey. RSVP your attendance: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/ZW63XPW
