About
The Master of Education in Educational Leadership and Management prepares researchers who would be able to contribute to knowledge in the field of Educational leadership and management, including knowledge of professional practice in Educational Leadership and Management at an advanced level.
The Master of Education in Educational Leadership and Management further develops in students their capacity and capabilities in dealing with complex issues in Educational Leadership and Management, empowering them with professional knowledge and research knowledge and skills to undertake investigative processes to inform, solve problems and transform Educational Leadership and Management through systematic and creative processes.
Outcomes
Upon successful completion of the MEd programme, students should be able to:
- Apply advanced specialist theoretical knowledge related to educational leadership and management, and evaluate the application thereof in a variety of educational contexts
- Demonstrate advanced professional knowledge of educational leadership and management practices
- Display knowledge of and insight into current discourses and debates in educational leadership and management
- Demonstrate the ability to develop advanced knowledge and skills in research and research processes
- Critically contribute and commit to the development of high ethical standards and is able to make autonomous ethical decisions which affect the practice of educational management and leadership.
- Analyse research methodology and techniques and demonstrate the ability to operate autonomously to prepare a research-based dissertation.
- Evaluate existing and emerging international research-informed knowledge of educational management and leadership.

- A Bachelor of Education Honours (BEd Hons) degree OR
- An appropriate 480 credit professional degree OR
- An appropriate Honours degree OR
- An appropriate Postgraduate Diploma which incorporates a research component which carries a minimum of a 30-point credit rating.
