The Management College of Southern Africa (MANCOSA) invites grade 10 and 11 learners at secondary schools in KwaZulu-Natal to enter the MANCOSA Schools’ Business Proposal Competition and Exhibition.

Learners who are studying the Business Studies modules as one of their subjects at school are invited to enter the competition aimed at identifying KwaZulu-Natal’s budding entrepreneurs.

If you believe you have a winning business idea and would like the opportunity to enter the competition read the following competition rules.

Entry Requirements/ Competition Rules

*The competition is open to Grade 10 and 11 pupils at secondary schools in KwaZulu-Natal only.
*Learners entering the competition must be studying the Business Studies subject.
*Learners participating in the competition must produce a detailed business proposal in English which encapsulates their business idea; explain why their idea would work; reveal what steps they will take to execute their business plan to make it a reality and how they will achieve and sustain a successful business.
*Learners would have to submit their entries through the school they attend. Entrant’s full names, a copy of their identity document and contact details must be attached to the entry.
*Entries must be accompanied together with a letter from an educator/principal confirming that the learner is registered at the school.
*Entries may be hand delivered to MANCOSA’s Head Office on 26 Samora Machel Street (former Aliwal Street), Durban or emailed to: [email protected]  with the name of the competition in the subject line.
*Entries close on Friday, September 12, 2014 by latest 4pm.
* No late entries will be accepted. The decision of the judges is final.
*Shortlisted entrants must attend and participate in the MANCOSA Schools’ Business Competition Exhibition during the third term school vacation in October where they must pitch their business plan before a panel of judges.
*A school representative must attend the Exhibition together with the finalist.

Prizes up for Grabs:

*The winner will receive a tablet and a MANCOSA Bursary. The school that the winning learner attends will benefit from a one-day leadership skills training programme for a select number of its senior staff members.
*Prizes will also be awarded to 2nd and 3rd placed winners.
