MoveeCom Mobile Internet Café shortlisted as one of the 135 finalists in The 2016 Global Innovation through Science and Technology (GIST) – a project by MANCOSA MBA Students.
Matsebe Phasha and Nakampe Shai, are current MBA students at MANCOSA, who have entered their MoveeCom Mobile Internet Café (MoveeCom MIC) proposal into the 2016 Global Innovation through Science and Technology (GIST) Competition held in The United States of America.
The pair have been developing the concept over the last decade and are in the process of refining their business idea through continuous research and development. The team were awarded seed funding for the MoveeCom MIC to develop the first prototype by South Africa Finland Knowledge Partnership in 2011. The team went on to win the 2011 SAB Foundation Innovation Awards and was recognised as a 2011 Entrepreneurial Project of the year by Polokwane Chamber of Business (PCOB).
Having entered the 2016 Global Innovation through Science and Technology (GIST) Competition, the team were fortunate to be among the 135 shortlisted semi-finalists.
“The GIST team received over 1075 entries from 104 countries and 102 entries from 51 countries were selected as semi-finalists. South Africa has 5 projects shortlisted and MoveeCom MIC was one of the five proposals that was selected.” said Phasha
The MoveeCom MIC team needs your voting for their project to go for the finals at 2016 GIST at Global Entrepreneurship Summit (GES) at Silicon Valley in USA to pitch their idea to potential collaborators, funding partners and other potential linkages.
