MANCOSA hosted a Russian delegation from the City of Novosibirsk during the week of 27th February until 5th March 2016. The delegation was hosted through a long term academic partnership which exists between the Management College of Southern Africa (MANCOSA) and Novosibirsk State University of Economics and Management (NSUEM).

Delegates comprised of academics, Information Technologists, State representatives and business partners. The programme provided an array of activities which included a Mayoral reception at eThekwini City Hall, an academic conference programme hosted at MANCOSA and company visits to Willowton Oil, Standard Bank, Dube Tradeport, Transnet and Edison Power. Durban Tourism took the delegation to Ushaka Marine World and on a cultural tour through Inanda Valley to showcase the rich South African history.

The City of Novosibirsk, through MANCOSA, entered into a signed agreement with the City of Durban on Monday the 29th February 2016 to allow the “twin cities” to build relationships for possible inter-state partnerships and business opportunities.

Mr Oleg Grebenyuk, one of the businessmen who visited South Africa for the first time, expressed his gratitude toward the hospitality MANCOSA experienced during the group’s stay in Durban. He said, “We love the country and the people we’ve met are wonderful!”

MANCOSA in its quest to increase its international footprint has embraced growth, operational and academic excellence as well as stakeholder engagement in aligning with the institution’s strategic priorities and goals.

To align and further promote internationalisation at MANCOSA, the institution will continue exploring and engaging in dialogue with and around local, national, regional and international collaborations, partnerships and friendships. This will lead to the institution sustaining this journey of empowerment, inspiration and capacity building geared towards life-long learning.
