In celebration of Cell C’s Take a Girl Child to Work Day, MANCOSA hosted 20 learners from St Endas Secondary School in Johannesburg and 10 learners Sithembele Matiso High School in Cape Town, on the 25th May 2017 at the Johannesburg and Cape Town Learning Centres respectively.
MANCOSA has been involved for the second year in this corporate social investment initiative, which invites corporates from across South Africa to expose Grade 10 to 12 female learners to the workplace.
This year’s participants were invited to spend the day with the Johannesburg and Cape Town Learning Centre staff, who introduced the learners to the various operations of the organisation. The programme commenced with a video presentation detailing the background of MANCOSA and its programme offerings, followed by a campus tour and concluded with visits to the student enrolment, academic, marketing, executive education, reception and library departments.
Cell C’s Take a Girl Child to Work Child Day statistics indicate that an estimated 50 000 young women benefit annually as hundreds of companies around the country participate in this programme.
MANCOSA wishes the participants all the best in completing their 2017 school year.
