The Business Women’s Association (BWA) KwaZulu-Natal, hosted a conference titled “Women in the Workplace” over the weekend of the 15th August 2015. The event hosted 500 female matric students and 100 educators from rural suburbs at the Coastlands Umhlanga Conference Centre in celebration of women’s month.
The event included a number of exciting activities such as a motivational speaker, a display of dress etiquette in a corporate environment and live entertainment.
In honour of such an event, the BWA invited the KZN MEC for Education, Ms. Neliswa Peggy Nkonyeni, to motivate and re-ignite the passion within educators present and to emphasise the current need to provide quality education.
As invited guests to the function, MANCOSA sponsored a bursary for one educator to study on the Postgraduate Diploma in Educational Management programme.
Educators were invited to submit a one page letter motivating why they deserve the bursary. The applications were submitted to the BWA team, who together with MANCOSA academic staff will select a deserving candidate. MANCOSA will announce the bursary winner at a ceremony scheduled to take place at the end of September 2015.
