Insights into Bullying from a School Management Perspective

Principals and educators have a legal obligation to protect learners from physical and/or emotional and psychological harm caused by bullying. The staff at school, act “in loco parentis” for learners under their care and supervision. This session provided insights on how the school management can tackle bullying in their schools. Mr Luveshan Naidu placed emphasis on the need to implementing a whole school approach to stop Bullying in schools. 

This involves making it the responsibility of the entire school community to address bullying by working collaboratively to ensure a culture that improves the learning experience of all learners. He added that school leaders and stakeholders need to be committed to addressing this issue and school policies, practices and procedures address all aspects of bullying.
