Training and Development Officer : Durban

Purpose:

To coordinate training and development initiatives to support the organization in collaboration with all departments to ensure the excellent execution of training and development function.

Core functions:

  • Conduct an institution wide needs analysis to address skills gaps and conduct quarterly skills gap analysis.
  • Identify and facilitate key training courses for current and new employees
  • Identify and assess training needs of staff by engaging with directors and managers
  • Manage the evaluation and reporting to the HR and Director Manager on the effectiveness of training
  • Manage the assessment all training that is applicable to the organization
  • Record evidence and reporting on training initiatives
  • Manage the development and implementation of progress reports for employees that are enrolled for study bursaries, internships, graduate programmes, etc.
  • Develop action plans to address poor work performance and support employees that require re-assessment
  • Collate and submit training evidence for reporting on the WSP and BBBEE scorecard
  • Ensure that all SETA bursaries and refunds are utilized to benefit the organisation
  • Ensure that the WSP and ATR are completed and submitted timeously
  • Ensure that regulatory compliance to deliver training optimally within the organization
  • Manage the planning and coordination of training schedules with directors and managers
  • Ensure that all logistics related to the venue are pre-arranged
  • Maintain a variety of manual and electronic files and/or records for providing updated information aligned to regulatory requirements
  • To manage the delivery of employee engagement initiatives such as employee satisfaction surveys
  • Collate and submit monthly training logger and budget
  • Ensure implementation and reporting of study bursaries
  • Monitor and report on trends within the organization and develop actions plans
  • Prepare the monthly payroll report
  • Develop and report on effective systems to measure performance of all staff that demonstrates the impact of training initiatives through various training delivery models
  • Manage the delivery of key projects such as Moodle training, Leadership Development training, Teambuilding, Year-end function, etc. within allocated budget
  • Manage and maintain internal and external stakeholder engagement through effective project management
  • Manage the execution of training projects through (timelines, reporting etc.
  • Identify and utilise technology to develop new methods of conducting training.
  • Monthly implementation of wellness programmes
  • Develop strategies to keep employees engaged

Qualification/s:

  • Minimum Honours Degree (Human Resource Management)

Experience:

  • 3-5 years training and development experience
  • Microsoft Office (Advanced Excel will be advantageous)
  • Knowledge of Skill Development legislation
  • Knowledge of Organisational Development initiatives
  • Knowledge of E-learning and LMS systems
  • Report Writing
  • Training material design
  • Problem-solving skills
  • Planning and Organising

Additional requirements:

  • Required to work during the weekends and overtime
  • Have a good understanding of the Higher Education landscape
